BimmerWorld Roll Cage Kit - F32 Coupe, F82 M4 Coupe

We put this cage kit together to provide everyone with a premium, properly designed, light weight, efficient, and realistically affordable full cage for F32 and F82 coupes.

The rollcage is the backbone of any great race car - it's there to save your life but also to improve the performance of the car. And there's good cages and great cages (we don't get into less-than-good...) and our goal with any in-house cage is to have the best, strongest, lightest weight, roomiest, and well-executed roll cage kit available to anyone. As a HUGE supporter of BMW racers we want you to have what we have, especially in terms of safety equipment. The time has been spent to provide a premium cage, worthy of our own in-house car builds (and this IS what we use!).

We focused a lot on driver space and room with this cage design. In a lot of cage layouts we are consistently let down by how tight the cage is around the driver(s). It makes bigger drivers more cramped, obstructs sightlines, and makes it harder to ingress/egress. This is usually due to a shortcut with the budget, timeline, or the builder to not spend additional time removing unnecessary inner structure. In the F32/F82 it's the sunroof structure that is no longer needed, adds weight up high, and did not allow the roof bars to run as high as we wanted. Once this structure is removed there is a lot more space for the driver and the bars can be positioned a lot tighter against the outer roof skin. This gives the driver a lot more room between him/her and the cage bars, especially the critical space around the head.

We designed this kit with modern anti-intrusion X-brace on both doors. This design is safer than "NASCAR-style" bars that are often incorrectly incorporated into the structure to make them properly functional. The fully gusseted cross-brace design protrudes into the door cavity (requires removing the glass and gutting doors) for side impact protection as well as maximizing driver impact space.

The cage installation begins with two main hoop locating brackets to the B-pillar, install your main hoop with the brackets as a guide, then the rest of the cage is indexed off of the main hoop. A typical cage or fabrication shop can install this kit in 35-40 hours, not including initial car prep, which you can probably do yourself. This is perfect for a shop or experienced at-home welder since all of the time consuming design process and fabrication has been completed for you. This cage design is for a fully-gutted interior, including the dash, HVAC, and doors (including glass). We intended for the dash skin/shell to be re-used and brackets are included for re-mounting it to the cage. Due to the design changes and trim differences some additional fabrication for dash mounting will be required. Additional interior fill panels are also available (see Related Items below).

F32 note: the cage has been designed to fit within a stock F32 metal roof skin, whether or not it came with a sunroof. The factory sunroof structure is extensive and must be cut out so the cage roof bars are as tight to the roof skin as possible. If desired, you can order a metal non-sunroof skin from your dealer, BMW part #41007343110 (don't pay shipping…) and open up the whole roof for install and welding.
F82 note: for M4 with carbon roof an inner sheetmetal roof support must be removed. Our cage will sit tightly close to the factory carbon roof. We don't recommend trying to remove the factory carbon roof from the body skeleton.
