OPTIMA D51R Style 3 Battery Mount Kit - E90 E91 E92 E85 Z4

The OPTIMA D51R Style 3 Battery Mount Kit is the ideal solution for mounting an OPTIMA D51R YELLOWTOP battery in your BMW track/race car. This particular mount kit is for E9X 3-series (E90 sedan, E91 wagon, and E92 coupe). The D51R battery is taller than a D35 or other BMW battery so a true bolt-in bracket is required. We've seen the home-brew mounting options and a more elegant, robust, and exact-fit solution is needed.

OPTIMA D51R AGM batteries are ideal for track/race BMWs because it is a smaller size and lighter weight than a full-size battery. If you no longer have many of the electronics or power-drawing accessories, why are you lugging around the battery for them? The D51R is used by BimmerWorld in many of our in-house builds. But with that reduced weight and technology comes reduced size, and that means that the factory battery mounts won't work. Many BMW owners will put something together that sort of works, but it won't necessarily be an exact fit, let alone the safety issues of having a battery not securely mounted. We've designed and manufactured high-quality, chassis-specific, billet aluminum battery mounts for precise fitment of OPTIMA D51R batteries in your BMW track/race car. Our goal was to provide an exact-fit solution that would not require any modifications to or replacement of wires, and to do so with factory-quality components and BimmerWorld's renowned attention to detail. Needless to say, that's exactly what we've done.

The OPTIMA D51R Style 3 Battery Mount Kit uses factory mounting points, includes an additional bracket for holding the power-distribution box on later models. It fits E90 3-series sedan, E91 3-series wagon, E92 3-series coupe, and E85/E86 Z4 BMW models. Because the D51R is taller than standard BMW sizes, the top battery cover/tray will no longer fit. The D51R is only for track or race cars that do not carry anything in the trunk. Terminal post covers are strongly recommended if you transport anything in the trunk (even groceries).
