Front 380mm Iron Rotor Swap - F87 M2 Competition, F8X M3/M4 CCB

Front 380mm Iron Rotor Swap - F87 M2 Competition, F8X M3/M4 CCB

Video: F8X M2/M3/M4 380mm Front Iron Disc Conversion

Front rotor swap + your 6-piston calipers = an option to run 18" wheels for track use!!!

With the original 400mm front rotors and 6-piston calipers you were forced to run 19" wheels. But by downsizing the front rotors there is now more clearance to fit within many 18" wheels*. This gives you a lot more wheel and track tire options!

The trick to the downsizing is a new bracket for the existing 6-piston caliper. This correctly repositions the caliper to use our 380x36mm rotors (made by GiroDisc). These brackets are often referred to as “2NH brackets” because the new rotor diameter is the same as the “2NH M Sport” blue brakes. Note: off-the-shelf OEM rotors will not work with these calipers.

The rotors are 2-piece design with replaceable rotor rings and the hats have been CNC machined specifically for this application. - off-the-shelf OEM rotors will not work with this caliper and bracket combination. You must use our unique GiroDisc rotors.

New caliper>bracket bolts and bracket>carrier bolts are included.

Pads? Use any pad designed for the M2 Competition, even in your M3/M4 CCB calipers. List of compatible front pads:
PFC 1648 (19mm)
Carbotech 1648
Pagid 4934
Hawk HB828
And other manufacturers using the “1648” pad shape.

What about the rear? The rear M3/M4 CCB rotors (and pads) should also be swapped out for iron discs. Luckily, we have that solution already. See Related Items below.

What about brake balance? A lot of brake balance comes down to pad compound. Call or email us when you buy our kit and we'll happily give you a consultation.

*Wheel Clearance - this setup is at the very limits of most inner wheel barrel clearance. Successful fitment is going to depend on barrel size and the location/depth of the drop center (the lowest point in the barrel). Spacers may be required to successfully position the wheel and achieve the best clearance.

Pad Clearance - as mentioned the clearances here are TIGHT. The pads and the bobbin hardware on the rotor hat are very close. We assume pad manufacturers have a consistent size for the pad backing plates but tolerances vary. Inspect pad > bobbin clearance closely, especially as the pad wears.

This package is specific to F87 M2C and F8X CCB calipers. We have no first-hand knowledge of using any other calipers (F10, etc).
