E36 Rear Subframe/Chassis Reinforcement Kit

Our E36 Rear Subframe/Chassis Reinforcement kit is an absolute must for any E36 that sees track or autocross use, and with the age and mileage of most E36 chassis, it’s a good idea for high-performance street cars, too. 

Most 1995+ E36 M3s have reinforcement plates welded in from the factory, but BMW didn’t see fit to add these much-needed structural supports to Non-M E36s. The area where the rear subframe attaches to the chassis is a well-documented failure point, especially on heavily-tracked E36s. If you track or plan to track your Non-M E36, it’s not a matter of if but when you’ll need to repair this area - it’s much easier and safer to plan this out as preventative maintenance than to wait for the inevitable.

The reinforcement plates in our E36 Rear Subframe/Chassis Reinforcement Kit are a factory fit and can be installed easily when subframe bushings are added. NOTE: Welding is required.

These reinforcements were added to E36 M3s midway through the 1995 model year but there is no exact month. It's possible that early 1994 production models did not receive them. However, all 1996-1999 M3s had them from the factory.
