Our Updated & Rebuilt Single Vanos Unit is the ultimate solution if your engine sounds more like a diesel truck than a fine German sports car. If you have a high-mileage BMW with a VANOS cam timing system, and if you've noticed a lack of low-end power as the miles add up, on top of the can-of-marbles sound from the front of your engine, then it may be time to replace your VANOS with a fresh unit rebuild in-house at BimmerWorld.
The kit comes as a fully rebuilt VANOS unit with modified internals, such as high-performance seals and O-rings, to completely eliminate the dreaded VANOS rattle. Plus, this is a great way restore lost power and increase the life of the unit. We disassemble each unit, clean all parts, and then re-assemble by hand and checking clearances and tolerances as we go. Our Vanos units will stand up to more abuse than stock, making them ideal for track cars, race cars, and forced induction applications.
Our rebuilt unit also includes -
+ steel profile gasket
+ 2 copper crush washers for the oil line
Solenoid is not included. To ensure correct and optimum operation we recommend getting a new solenoid (see Related Items below). However, you can re-use your existing solenoid (you can easily test it). There is no need to send your old solenoid in with the core.
